About the Artist
hi! i'm Sonali (i also go by Sunnie!), a college student and a very passionate designer. i'm an alumni of glenbrook north high school and i'm a second year at RIT this fall. i'm native to the chicago area and currently split my time between chicago and rochester, new york. graphic design has been an interest of mine since i was in seventh grade. i find it to be a meaningful way for me to express myself and my creativity. graphic design is a method of communication, one that allows for subtextual messages as well as surface-level messages to be conveyed. i find art to be central in both my family and my culture. i'm a first-generation indian-american and i'm very proud of my heritage. I feel most at home in the studio or computer lab. i love to travel and learn about new cultures and I especially love to make work about my cultural experiences. I also have a passion for fashion and jewelry. i'm excited to show you my work, so enjoy!

i'm familiar with the programs: adobe illustrator, adobe photoshop, adobe after effects, adobe indesign, photopea, canva, wix, and procreate.

i am very involved with fine arts and spend my free time printmaking, doing henna, painting, sewing, drawing, sculpting, and taking photos with my phone and camera.
